Dundalk 3 Limerick 0
Dundalk marched impressively into the third round of the FAI Cup with a clear-cut win over in-from Limerick, who had won three on the trot before this.
David Hoey set Dundalk on their way with a brilliant bicycle kick on the half hour, receiving Tommy Byrne's cross with his back to goal and somehow hooking it past Kevin Fitzpatrick.
Limerick responded well, but Dundalk grabbed a second against the flow on 57 minutes through John Flanagan.
After that the home side dominated and it was no surprise when the lively Martin Reilly scored a route-one embellishment with five minutes left, chasing down 'keeper John Connolly's long punt and chipping the advancing Fitzpatrick.
