Wilson wants Devine - June 29, 2000

New Bristol City boss Danny Wilson is keen to bring new players to Ashton Gate and his first target is Wycombe's Irish striker, Sean Devine.

Devine, 27, a former Irish 'B' international, is valued at £750,000 by Wycombe - but Wilson is preparing a bid of Steve Jones plus £300,000.

Devine first joined Wycombe from Barnet on loan at the tail-end of the 1998-99 season and his 9 goals in 12 games saved the Chairboys from relegation, prompting them to make the deal permanent.

Last season he scored 25 goals in 48 games for Wycombe.
