Sheffield Wednesday's Dean Brennan looks set to kick-start his career at Kenilworth Road. The 20-year-old Irishman is on trial at Luton and in two pre-season matches has impressed new manager Ricky Hill. Hill knows all about Brennan. It was he who signed Brennan for Wednesday.

Brennan played and scored for the Hatters in the 5-2 victory over Bromley and also put in an impressive showing against St. Albans.

Hill said: "At Sheffield I signed him from Dublin along with two other players. One of those players was Alan Quinn, recently the subject of a £2.5million move from Everton.

"Dean was a better player than Alan so I know he has the talent to do well, but his temperament would be my only concern. If he wants it as much as his talents deserve he could make the grade."
