Worrell joins Plymouth on loan - November 21, 2000

Dave Worrell has joined English Division 3 outfit Plymouth Argyle on a three month loan from Dundee United.

Worrell, who missed the start of the season due to injury, has failed to force his way into a struggling Dundee side despite them propping up the Scottish Premiership table. Dundee look doomed so it is not a bad move for Worrell to move onto pastures new.

Dave has been capped for Ireland at most underage levels. His day in the sun came during the Youth World Cup in Malaysia where he was one of the stars of the Irish team which finished third.

On return from Malaysia he lost his contract with Blackburn Rovers so he decided a move up north would be a refreshing change and he took the challenge Dundee United offered.

He played 20 games for Dundee last season but so far this year he has only figured as an unused sub once.

The 22-year-old defender will join fellow Irishmen Wayne O'Sullivan, Sean McCarthy and Paul McGregor at Argyle so he should feel at home.
