Costello's rollercoaster! - December 8, 2000
Eircom first division preview
Greg Costello has dropped down one place in the Eircom League ladder by transferring from Kilkenny City - bottom of the Premier division - to runaway first division leaders Athlone Town.
But come next May, Costello will almost certainly be waving at Kilkenny as they pass each other while trading places!
Costello will debut for Athlone tonight when they host promotion contenders Sligo - just one of three teams who go into action tonight with their eyes set on second place.
Dundalk, the current occupiers, travel to Hogan Park to take on Limerick. But Monaghan United can take over if they beat St. Francis at Gortakeegan and Dundalk slip up - while Sligo can get within a point of Monaghan if they beat Athlone.
At the other end of the table, Drogheda will be hoping for a Monaghan win. That would mean the Drogs will move off bottom slot if they beat Home Farm at United Park tonight.
