Confident Cork take on Swiss - August 10, 2000

Cork City are raring to go for tonight's UEFA Cup clash with Lausanne Sports in Switzerland, with the side at full strength and no real injury worries.

Mark Herrick and Declan Daly make their appearances tonight, both shaking off minor set backs.

As well as that, Cork can look forward to the inclusion of striker John Caulfield, who has played in all but two of their European matches to date, and this game will be a special occasion for the veteran striker.

The last time Cork played in Switzerland, against FC Aarau in the InterToto cup, Caulfield was suspended. Now he's anxious to get out there and look for a great performance.

Also seeking a big game is goalkeeper Noel Mooney, who actually made his European debut last time they played Switzerland, four year ago. He had a great game that night, holding FC Aarau to a goal-less draw.

Meanwhile, Lausanne are also set on making a mark tonight. The multi-national side only have one injury doubt in the form of Stephane Santini, who has a niggling back problem. Last season saw them finish as league runners up and beaten Cup finalists.
