Cobh's Golden double - January 7, 2001
Cobh Ramblers 4 St Michael's 0
A double strike by Donal Golden put the gloss on a workmanlike performance by Cobh Ramblers in dismissing the FAI Cup challenge of non-league St. Michael's from Tipperary.
Golden struck in the 69th and 78th minutes to make it look easy in the end after the visitors had given a good account of themselves early on.
It took the Eircom League side until the 38th minute to break the deadlock, Paul Coughlan heading home Willie Bruton's corner.
But they took control three minutes into the second half when Bruton himself dribbled through to make it 2-0.
