Irish Celts rally in Dundalk - February 23, 2001
Celtic fans from all over Ireland will gather in Dundalk tomorrow to protest at the club's plans to abandon the famous green and white hoops.
Lisbon Lions Bobby Murdoch and Bertie Auld will address the rally, at the town's Imperial Hotel.
Celtic's new jersey, due to be officially unveiled on St. Patrick's Day, retains only vestigial traces of the famous hoops on its front.
The Irish fans are part of a worldwide "Hands off the Hoops" campaign. Buses to Dundalk will run from Cork, Galway, Dublin, Donegal and Derry.
