Bristol City manager Danny Wilson has put seven of his players on the transfer - including Ireland's John Burns.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined City from Nottingham Forest last season in a deal which saw Jim Brennan going the other way.

Wilson said: "As the season goes on these players are going to find it increasingly frustrating if they are not challenging for first-team places.

"The older ones need to be playing regular first team football, while the youngsters must be pushing to advance their careers.

"In each case I feel the player concerned will have a better chance at another club. Our squad is much too big and I may well look at making further cuts later in the season."
