Bulldog set for Irish return as Barbadan leaves- October 26, 2000 With the close season in America, players are left twiddling their thumbs - but with soccer in mid-season everywhere else most decide to cross borders and play on. Dubliner Paul Keegan has returned from New England Revolution to play with Bray Wanderers for the second time and now it looks as if Stephen Grant will return to Ireland to play for Kilkenny City. The Boston Bulldogs top scorer moved to America at the beginning of the last campaign and went on to star for the A League outfit, playing 25 times for them and scoring seven goals. He has already played for Athlone Town, Shamrock Rovers and Waterford United in Ireland as well as Stockport in England. The highlight of the 23-year-old's career so far was playing for the Irish u21 in his home town of Birr, even though Ireland lost 3-0 to Sweden. Elsewhere, Galway United were hit with the news that they have lost Llewelyn Riley after only one game. The Barbados international is going home tomorrow. |
