Breen and Holland struggling - August 25, 2000 Ireland's Gary Breen and Matt Holland face a struggle to be fit for their country's showdown with the Dutch on September 2. Coventry defender Breen is suffering from double vision, which kept him out of Coventry's first away win in over a year when they travelled to the Dell and beat Southampton on Wednesday night. This is the second time that the player has suffered the complaint but as yet he does not know what is causing it. Breen said: "I suffered the same complaint when we played the USA in Boston last June but then it only affected me in the last five minutes of the match. "I wondered if I would suffer any recurrences during the summer but thankfully it never returned. Unfortunately, it did just that against Middlesbrough on Saturday and I was forced to go off ten minutes from time. "I couldn't see the ball properly so that was a bit worrying. Since then, I've undergone eye tests with the club doctor and I'm due to get the results back today. He thinks it may be the symptoms of migraine but we won't know until the tests come back." Breen is confident that he will be passed fit to play for Ireland next week as is Ipswich's Matt Holland who is suffering from an ankle injury. Matt hopes to make the Ipswich starting line-up for tomorrow's Premiership game against Sunderland and in turn be ready for the international challenge next week. Holland said: "I took a strong challenge to my ankle in the last few minutes of the first half against Manchester United and was forced off just after half time. I've got the ankle wrapped in ice and it's responding to treatment."
