Galway end Bray streak - September 1, 2000

Bray Wanderers 0 Galway United 1

Bray Wanderers 10-game unbeaten streak came to an end at the Carlisle Grounds when Galway scored a rare victory on the road.

Sean Malee's 18th-minute header was enough to secure three valuable points for the Tribesmen - who were helped no end by Bray's fit of red mist.

Colm Tresson and substitute Barry O'Connor both clocked off early, leaving Bray to play the last ten minutes with nine men.

Apart from Tranmere-target Jason Byrne hitting the bar with a header, Tresson had Bray's best chances - scooping over when well placed and then seeing his free-kick well saved by Davey Forde - and the Seasiders' threat diminished with his dismissal.

Indeed, Galway should have made it 2-0 near the end when Ollie Keogh hit the post.
