Ton-up Barry wins for Bray - February 10,
2001
Bray Wanderers 2 Derry City 1
Bray Wanderers made up for the disappointment of their Cup exit at the hands of hated Bohs by beating Derry in the league at the Carlisle Ground - but they sure left it late!
It was Barry O'Connor, in his hundredth game for Bray, who scored the winner in added time after Derry failed to deal with Dave Williamson's corner. The ball pinged around the box until O'Connor took charge and scooped it home. Williamson had only been on the pitch nine minutes as Pat Devlin tried a desperate last double substitution.
It was a relief for Bray who had led from the very first minute of the game - thanks to Jason Byrne - and looked to be cruising to victory going into the final quarter.
But Peter Hutton had other ideas and he fired home an equaliser with twelve minutes left.
