Charles is new Bray boy - November 29, 2000

Bray Wanderers v Shelbourne, Carlisle Grounds 19:45

Kilkenny's twice postponed game against Bohemians at Buckley Park was called off yet again last night - so it's Shelbourne who now have the opportunity to open a gap at the top of the premier division by beating Bray Wanderers tonight.

But not if Wesley Charles can help it. The big centre half has arrived at the Carlisle Grounds from Sligo Rovers and should go straight into action against the league leaders tonight.

Bray, for whom Jason Byrne returns after suspension, can themselves close to within three points of the leaders by beating Shelbourne.

Seasiders boss Pat Devlin, delighted with Charles' arrival, said: "We have assembled a strong squad of players and now it's time for us to deliver on the ability within the club."

For Shelbourne, top scorer Richie Foran has a toe problem but could still play, while Jim Crawford has a nasty head wound - which means a probable start for veteran Paul Doolin. Stephen Geoghegan is still injured.
