Bray go for seven in a row at the Carlisle Grounds - September 1, 2000

Newly promoted Bray Wanderers are finding life in the higher division easier than expected. They face an up-and-down Galway United side tonight at the Carlisle Ground and a win would be their seventh consecutive at home.

Bray have earned seven points from their three game so far in the league and will hope to add to this tonight against a Galway team that blow hot and cold. Galway started the season with a bang, knocking five goals past Finn Harps. But they came back to earth with a bump the following week when they conceded five at Bohemians.

They were beaten again last weekend when Kilkenny travelled to Terryland and left with a 2-1 win. Losing to the likes of Kilkenny at home doesn't bode well for a comfortable season so they will have to sort out their home form and also start to pick up points on their travels.

This will be hard to achieve tonight because Bray are playing with a lot of confidence. But manager Pat Devlin is not getting over excited about the start.

He said: "We're nowhere yet. We've started reasonably well, are focused and have got three of the toughest games of the season out of the way. But I think it has been a false summer and in a couple of weeks' time you'll see things sort themselves out."
