Morley chases historic target - November 17, 2000
Bray Wanderers v Cork City
Cork City veteran Pat Morley will line out against Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds just two goals short of yet another remarkable milestone.
Morley is third in the all-time list of National League goalscorers, with 176 strikes under his belt - and that's just two shy of second-placed Turlough O'Connor, the former Dundalk, Athlone and Republic of Ireland striker.
Morley, with five goals to his credit so far this season (See Cork Player Stats), is certain to pass that mark before too long - but he still has some way to go to overhaul the National League's most prolific goal-getter of all time, the great Brendan Bradley of Finn Harps.
Bradley, who had a spell with Lincoln City sandwiched between two stints at Harps, set an unbelievable target of 235 National League goals.
Michael Devine will continue to deputise for the injured Noel Mooney in the Cork goal and Patsy Freyne is also ruled out tonight, while Colin O'Brien is doubtful.
Bray will welcome back Eddie Gormley, but there is a question mark over Maurice Farrell. Barry O'Connor is in line to make his 250th league appearance.
