Bray come unstuck against Dundee - July 14, 2000

After Bray Wanderers' brave show against Celtic at the weekend it was expected that they would follow in Bohemians footsteps and beat Dundee United when they met at the Carlisle Ground last night. But Pat Devlin's men never raised their game to the required heights, finally losing 2-0 to the Scottish Premier outfit.

Dundee made nine changes from the side beaten by Bohemians and the new blood seemed to do the trick. The Scottish side fully deserved their win for they were on top all through and, with two goals in two minutes midway through the first half, earned the first win of their Irish pre-season tour.

Dundee went in front after 30 minutes' play when Patterson's free from the left was missed by goalkeeper Alan Young and full back David Partridge had the simplest of tasks of heading the ball into the net.

Two minutes later Dundee killed off the game when McConalogue's powerful shot was only parried by Young in the Bray goal and the inrushing striker Jim Patterson coolly hit the loose ball into the net.
