Boxall hit with injury setback - August 8, 2000 Danny Boxall's hopes of being fit for the start of the Brentford's new campaign took a serious setback over the weekend. The Republic of Ireland u21 full-back looked well on the way to an early recovery from a bad injury to his left leg - so much so, that it was hoped that he would be ready for first-team action two months ahead of schedule. He was with the team when they faced Cardiff last week and was even named as part of the squad but he broke down in training and now things look bad. When he broke down he was not being challenged so it looks as if the leg has just given way. The coaching staff had ensured Boxall didn't participate in anything too physical, but the player fell suddenly after less than an hour's work out. Boxall and the club now face a nervous wait whilst the extent of the injury is examined. |
