Bohs stumble into next round - January 6, 2001
Bohemians 2 Drogheda United 0
Roddy Collins' Bohemians side will have to raise their game to a different plateau if they are to reach the final of the FAI Cup for the second year in succession.
Bohs looked to have an easy passage into the next round after they drew struggling first-division outfit Drogheda United at Dalymount Park - but the Premier side made it far from easy for themselves in a very disappointing game.
Collins will point at the fact that they are in the hat as the important thing, but really they should have put Drogheda to the sword - especially since United showed little special over the 90 minutes.
It took until the stroke of half time before Bohs finally took the lead. Shaun Maher came up for a corner and ghosted in at the back post to head forcefully into the back of the net.
New signing Alex Nesovic added a second six minutes from time to put a gloss on the result when he pounced on a Glen Crowe cross.
