Cork leave it late - September 1, 2000

Bohemians 1 Cork City 1

It took an 87th-minute penalty by Kelvin Flanagan to earn Cork a point against Bohs at Dalymount and keep the top two neck and neck.

That was rough justice on the Gypsies, who would have been well worth the win. The Dublin side had most of the game and deserved to take the lead in the 63rd minute, when substitute Brendan Markey pounced on a mix-up between Mooney and Napier.

Glen Crowe should have made it 2-0, but Mooney made amends with an unbelievable stop.

Flanagan kept a cool head when debut-boy Jamie Mulligan was hauled down in the box by Shaun Maher, beating Russell from the spot.

Bohs could still have taken all three points, but Mooney was again equal to the task, tipping away Dave Morrison's goal-bound shot.
