Hot Rod sledges Aberdeen - August 10, 2000 As Bohemians face Aberdeen in the UEFA Cup showdown tonight, the tempo is reaching fever pitch - with Bohs boss Roddy Collins telling his opposite number: "You're too old for the job"! Collins has basically told 55-year-old manager Ebbe Skovdahl that he should retire - adding that he himself would love the job of Aberdeen boss if he did! The Aberdeen manager has a 57-match Euro record with Danish side Brondby that includes games against Manchester United and Bayern Munich. But Collins, who makes his European debut as manager tonight, said: "Maybe it's a sign for him to step down- perhaps he's a bit too old for the job now". Keen on making an impact tonight, Collins added his enthusiasm for the position as Aberdeen manager by saying: "Maybe Bohemians can show it's time for a younger man to take charge at Aberdeen by winning this title. If he went, I would apply straight away". Skovdahl dismissed Collins' remarks, replying: "I have never been one for placing too much emphasis on what opponents say before games". In terms of formation, Collins is expected to use Trevor Molloy as the only forward in his 4- 5-1 set-up. Ironically, Collins went to Scotland a fortnight ago in a bid to sign a top striker - but missed out on securing the signature of his target, Tommy Coyne.
