Bohs late show shocks Aberdeen - August 11, 2000

Aberdeen 1 Bohemians 2

Bohemians continued Eircom League sides' good show in Europe this season by coming from a goal down to beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie - which leaves them with a great chance to reach the UEFA Cup proper.

The great thing about the result is that it was deserved. Bohemians were by far the better team for the 90 minutes and undeservedly went behind in the 62nd minute through a Robbie Winters goal.

Bohemians to their credit never lost their shape after going behind and when Shaun Maher climbed the highest in the Aberdeen box in the 82nd minute to head into the net it was game on.

Roddy Collins' side got their reward in the last minute of the game and it was fitting that it came from man-of-the-match Trevor Molloy. Molloy became the dearest internal signing in National League history when he joined Bohs from St. Pat's.

He repaid the faith shown in him by keeping his nerve to crack home a penalty in the dying seconds when Aberdeen were penalised after Mark Perry brought down former Hull player Darren O'Keeffe.
