Rowdy Roddy Collins- September 28, 2000 Bohemians' outspoken manager, Roddy Collins, has been handed a two-match sideline ban and fined £100 following his dismissal against Shelbourne a fortnight ago. Collins picked up the ban for verbally assaulting the fourth official and not, as reported at the time, for throwing his jacket into the crowd. The Bohs boss seems to be itching for a fight since the start of the season. He squared up to Damien Richardson during a Bohs-Shamrock Rovers game and then had a go at the Aberdeen manager, saying he was too old for the job. "I was sent off for dissent and I hold my hands up on that count," said Collins. "But I never threw a jacket into the crowd." Collins wasn't the only Bohemians person to feel the wrath of the league's disciplinary board. Talented midfielder Dave Morrison also picked up a two-match ban for a sending off in the same game and he will now miss his club's mid-October games against St. Patrick's Athletic and Finn Harps. |
