Bohs on collision course with league - January 2, 2001
At 19:45 tonight Bohemians should be at Richmond Park, kicking off against St. Patrick's Athletic in their rearranged Eircom Premiership fixture.
Instead, Bohemians insist they will be across the city at Dalymount, kicking off against Ashtown Villa in the Leinster Senior Cup.
The LSC fixture was arranged first and Bohs say the League broke their own rules in rearranging the St. Pat's match within 24 hours of its postponement.
But, rather than any great concern over the observance of League rules, Bohemians are more motivated by the absence of three suspended players - Kevin Hunt, Stephen Caffrey and newboy Alex Nesovic - plus their English-based contingent, who aren't due back from their Christmas break until the weekend.
But League official Donal Crowther warned Bohemians to turn up at Richmond Park.
"League games take precedence over the LSC and Bohs have to abide by the rules," Crowther warned.
And St. Pat's boss Pat Dolan said: "I don't believe Bohs won't turn up. I think it is just a ploy to distract us."
