It looks likely that Shamrock Rovers midfielder Billy Woods will return to Cork to join City in the near future.

Billy, who is 27 today, has bought a house on Leeside and has also transferred his job back to his home town from Dublin - all of which points to a move back to his native Cork.

The Rovers star started his career at Cork before a £50,000 move to Tranmere Rovers in 1995. He only played one game for John Aldridge's side in his two year's in Liverpool - and a loan move to Blackpool, where he played three times in nine days, was also unproductive.
