Woods homing in on move - October 24, 2000 It looks likely that Shamrock Rovers midfielder Billy Woods will return to Cork to join City in the near future. Billy, who is 27 today, has bought a house on Leeside and has also transferred his job back to his home town from Dublin - all of which points to a move back to his native Cork. The Rovers star started his career at Cork before a £50,000 move to Tranmere Rovers in 1995. He only played one game for John Aldridge's side in his two year's in Liverpool - and a loan move to Blackpool, where he played three times in nine days, was also unproductive. He decided to move home but instead of joining the Eircom League he moved instead north of the border to Glentoran. After a season there, he decided to move south again and joined Shamrock Rovers. |
