Myler back to spark Athlone - January 19, 2001
Athlone Town v St. Francis
It's the news the rest of the first division feared to hear - Andy Myler is back!
Table-toppers Athlone have distinctly off the boil since 19-goal Myler - the league's top-scorer - injured his knee five weeks ago.
But the deadly marksman is now fit again and ready to face unfortunate St. Francis tonight at St. Mel's.
To make things worse for second-from-bottom St. Francis, Athlone also have Stuart Connolly fit again. And they have already ended their lean spell with a1-0 win on the road at Limerick last week.
But the Saints can take consolation from the fact that Athlone's Keith O'Brien is still ruled out with injury, while Micky Collins faces a fitness test.
Athlone have also taken the vastly experienced defender Gino Brazil on loan from Shamrock Rovers until the end of the season.
