Irish movers are instant hits - November 13, 2000

Two young Irish players who concluded transfer deals late last week proved instant hits with their new clubs at the weekend.

Burnley's Alan Lee agreed a permanent move to Rotherham after being on loan there for the last two months. And he celebrated by scoring Rotherham's second goal in a 3-0 away win at Brentford - a celebration dampened only slightly when he picked up yellow card.

Young Wolves midfielder Keith Andrews - another Ireland underage international - was meanwhile making his debut for Oxford United after agreeing a months' loan deal.

He cracked a 34th-minute winner in a 2-1 away win against Swansea.
