Pain no barrier as Lee targets Liverpool - January 3, 2001

Alan Lee should be in the Rotherham side to face Liverpool on Saturday in the FA Cup despite still suffering from an ankle injury which he picked up nearly a month ago.

Lee returned to first-team action on Monday against Bury and came through the 0-0 draw without any adverse reaction to the injury, so he should figure again at the weekend.

Since his move from Burnley in November he has scored five goals for Rotherham and is seen as a key man as the second division club try to shoot down Liverpool in their own backyard.

Irish winger Richie Partridge should come into contention for a place in the Liverpool team after coming through a reserve game last night. Partridge played in Liverpool's 8-0 win against Stoke in the Worthington Cup and is the only player at the club who offers real width, which that should push his claims for a start.
