Quinn confident of Wednesday survival - October 27, 2000

Irish u21 international Alan Quinn is confident that Sheffield Wednesday can survive in the First Division.

Quinn, who scored a cracker on Wednesday night against QPR at Loftus Road to earn Sheffield back-to-back wins, has no doubt that they will avoid being relegated for the second successive season.

Quinn said: "In the last couple of weeks we have worked on team spirit. Now we are showing it.

"If we had been 1-0 down a couple of weeks ago we might have lost by five or six. But we've brought a couple of players in and a couple of players back and Efan Ekoku has made a difference.

"Team spirit wasn't great at the start of the season. Now we're on the way back. We have a tough one on Saturday against Fulham - but we are definitely staying up."
